Taipa is located in Doubtless Bay which extends from Knuckle Point at the end of the Karikari Peninsula in the north to Berghan Point in the south. A warm sub-tropical climate over 70kms of unspoiled coastline an abundance of safe beaches and a lot of activities makes Doubtless Bay a holiday paradise in the Northland of New Zealand.
In 1769, Capt. James Cook sailed past the entrance to the area and recorded in his journal "doubtless a bay", hence the name.
A great choice of eating places, excellent golf courses, wineries, superb swimming, diving, fishing, sailing, surfing and facilities, this area combines the open ocean and the shelter of the estuary. This is an excellent location to spot dolphins and orcas. |
